Philadelphia Distilling is moving to the waterfront!

In a press release on Thursday, Philadelphia Distilling officially announced what has been called the 'worst kept secret in Philadelphia', their new home in Fishtown! This is great news, not just for the neighborhood but for Philadelphia Distilling as well!

Recently Gina (This Drunk Photographer) and I visited their current facility, and I have to admit I was shocked by the size of the joint. With one beautiful still, and a small operation for bottling I'm even more impressed by the spirits they make.

The beautiful copper still, hand crafted and hammered by A. Forsythe & Son, of Rothes, Scotland is certainly a sight! This absolutely stunning still, and the visual centerpiece of the distillery in it's current location is key in creating Bluecoat Gin, an international award winning gin.  Also, one of my personal favorites. I'm glad I got the chance to tour the current facility and am more excited that these tours are going to be more regular in their next home along the Philadelphia waterfront. If you're a history buff, or a fan of the 'How Things Work' shows, you certainly want to get ready to get on board with the tours.

After the presentation we were offered the chance to taste some of their spirits, they have quite the line up - Bluecoat Gin, Bluecoat Barrel Finished Gin, Pennsylvania 1681 vodka, Vieux Carre absinthe, The Bay seasoned vodka and XXX Shine whiskey.
Gina found her new favorite thing, the XXX
Shine Salted Caramel, which they paired with an apple cider and had us dreaming of boozy cider in the fall.

Check out some of our photos from the distillery tour here:

We'll see all of you at their new location, we plan to be regularly drunk there.

Stay drunk, Bitches!
